Storm & Hail Damage Roof Repair in Richmond, TX

After a hail or wind event, CS Roofing Concepts inspects your roof and produces insurance-ready documentation — dated photographs slope by slope, a written report of every finding, and a line-item scope in the format adjusters expect. We can be on the property when your adjuster inspects, so nothing we found gets missed. Then we do the repair or the replacement.

What storm damage actually looks like

Most hail damage is not visible from the ground, which is exactly why so much of it goes unaddressed until a leak shows up a year later. Here is what we are looking for when we get on the roof:

  • Impact bruising. Soft, dark circles where hail knocked the granules off and compressed the mat underneath. They often do not leak immediately — they leak after the exposed asphalt has cooked through a Texas summer.
  • Granule accumulation. Piles of granules at downspout outlets after a storm are a strong signal of surface damage across the roof.
  • Creased or lifted shingles. Wind damage. A shingle that has been folded back and laid down again has a broken seal even if it looks flat.
  • Damaged vents, boots and flashing. Soft metal takes hail worse than shingles do, and these are the places water gets in first.
  • Fence, gutter and siding impacts. Useful corroboration — if the fence caps and gutter tops are dimpled, the roof took the same hits.

What we do, in order

  1. Get out quicklyStorm calls are prioritized. If water is actively coming in, we will tarp to stop the immediate damage.
  2. Document everythingDated photographs of every finding, slope by slope, plus the collateral damage on gutters, vents and fencing.
  3. Written reportA plain-language summary of what we found and what it needs. It is yours to keep and to share with whoever you want.
  4. Repair or replaceScoped, priced as line items, and scheduled. Cleanup and a final walkthrough at the end.

How we support a storm claim

DocumentationDated photographs of every slope, close-ups of impact damage, and the collateral evidence on gutters, vents and fencing. Thorough documentation is the single most useful thing you can have.
Written reportA plain-language summary of every finding. It is yours to keep and to submit wherever you need to.
Line-item scopeOur estimate is itemised in the format adjusters work from, so there is nothing to translate.
On site with your adjusterWe can be at the property during the inspection and walk them through exactly what we found and where. Damage that nobody points out is damage that gets missed.
The work itselfRepair or full replacement, scheduled, cleaned up daily, with a final walkthrough.
What stays with youCoverage questions, policy interpretation and negotiating the settlement stay between you and your insurer. In Texas that work requires a public adjuster licence, which is a separate profession from roofing — and roofing contracts have been voided in court where the contractor crossed that line. Keeping the roles separate protects your contract with us.

Do not wait for the leak

The expensive mistake after a hailstorm is assuming the roof is fine because the ceiling is dry. Impact damage removes the protective granule layer and leaves the asphalt underneath exposed to UV. It degrades quietly through the next summer and starts leaking the following spring, by which point the storm is a distant memory and the damage has spread into the decking. An inspection right after the event costs you nothing and tells you where you stand.

Common Questions

How soon after a storm should I get the roof looked at?

Within a few weeks if you can. Damage is easiest to identify while it is fresh, and if there is an active leak, every rain after the storm makes it worse.

Do you charge for a storm inspection?

No. The inspection, the photographs and the written summary are free, and they are yours whether or not you hire us to do the work.

Can you tell me whether my insurance will cover it?

We can tell you exactly what is damaged and document it thoroughly enough that nothing gets overlooked — which is the part that actually affects outcomes. What your specific policy covers is between you and your insurer. Advising on that in Texas requires a public adjuster licence, which is a separate profession from roofing.

My neighbours all got new roofs. Does that mean I need one?

Not necessarily. Hail falls unevenly and roof age and material matter as much as the storm did. We will tell you what your roof actually needs, which is sometimes a repair and sometimes nothing at all.

Can you tarp my roof today?

If water is actively coming into the house, call us at (281) 202-4382 and we will get out as fast as we can to stop the immediate damage.
